Liza Phoenix was born in Seattle, Washington and grew up in White Center, she currently lives in the Alki area of West Seattle.
She attended high school in White Center, but left before graduation to pursue other interests. She painted t-shirts for a short time in Seattle's Pike Place Market, then she began to experiment with sculpting which led her to a career as a professional sculptor that lasted for several years.
Later, she attended college to study web programming and graphic design. After a few years, Liza left college to become a full time graphic artist. To date she has created over 200 colored pencil works and digital posters which sell primarily over the internet from websites like Art.com, and AllPosters.com.
Liza's work has been influenced by pop surrealism, fantasy art, vintage advertising, folklore, and urban living.
She is also a photographer and has been known to paint her hair, furniture, car, and even her dog. She says "I'm most happy when I'm making things better by painting them."
