Abominable Snowman
Another name for the Yeti.
During the 1921 expedition to Mt. Everest the group reported sighting several creatures which their Sherpas called "metohkangmi" meaning snow beasts.
This term was later misspelled as "metchkangmi" and then translated incorrectly as Tibetan for foul or filthy dirty snowman. In order to sensationalize the sightings a journalist adjusted the name to Abominable Snowman and it stuck.
