Bigfoot Bigfoot

A supernatural creature living in the forested mountain regions of North America. Most sightings occur in Washington, Oregon, Idaho, Northern California, British Columbia, Alberta, and occasionally Alaska with sightings of similar primates occurring throughout North America and the world.

Descriptions of Bigfoot are relatively consistent. According to a great many eye witness accounts they stand between 6 to 9 feet tall with the females tending to be smaller. They are bipedal, have a pointed head and sloping forehead with a prominent brow ridge.

The body is completely covered by shaggy hair except for the palms of the hands, soles of the feet, and the face. The hair color ranges from black to dark brown or auburn, the older creatures may have some gray or white hair. The eyes are deep set and are usually brown with an unmistakable spark of intelligence.

The footprints can be up to sixteen inches long and resemble prints left by bare human feet. When tracks are discovered they are carefully examined. Many have been found to be hoaxes, others have been found to have forensic features indicating that they are footprints from a real animal.

Bigfoot has been described as a gentle man-like creature that when encountered will most likely simply turn and walk away, there are also reports of violence, including kidnapping, and destruction of property.

They may be living Gigantopithecus blacki, a species of ape believed to be extinct for 100,000 years, or a smaller hominid known as Paranthropus, the creature has also been associated with aliens and said to have supernatural abilities, or to be "decidedly unnatural."

The term Bigfoot is often used to refer to any variety of the other fabulous primates found anywhere in the world.

Also known as America's Abominable Snowman, Sasquatch, Neo-Giant, and may be related to the creatures known as Nakani or Bushmen.
