Dragon Dragon

A reptilian-like creature, legged or legless, sometimes winged and sometimes able to breath fire or spit poison. Dragons occur throughout history in virtually all cultures around the world. Several species have been identified.

Most dragons resemble giant lizards or serpents, but there are some species that when full grown are no more than an inch and half long. They come in all colors of the rainbow, in fact, some actually are rainbow colored.

They typically have some combination of fangs, claws, spines, horns, and barbs. The scales and skin vary greatly, some are covered with large bulky armor-like plates, some are smoothly scaled like a snake, and some are somewhere in between or a combination of both. Others have leathery skin like a shark or a bat.

Dragons possess many magical and spiritual qualities, for example some wingless varieties are able to fly, some can shapeshift, read minds, or control the weather. And some of their body parts can be used to create powerful potions.

Depending on the species they can be either malevolent or benevolent. They may be intelligent and even have the ability to speak or they may be wild and run completely on instinct.

For the most part they are solitary creatures found on both land and in water.

It is important to note that a dragon is not a reptile but is its own kind.
