Imp Imp

A small mischievous demon related to the fairy. The imp's greatest joy is frustrating human beings to the point of tears. To achieve this level of frustration they choose a victim and then mercilessly harass them with a never ending variety of petty tricks.

Some imps are able to bring their victims to tears almost immediately while others work endlessly only to bring about a mild level of irritation. They may work alone, in pairs, or in hordes.

Common practices include leading travelers astray, hiding small but important objects, spreading rumors, and starting arguments. They also love to poke, pinch, and bite.

Imps can be bottled using sorcery. Bottled imps are usually used to carry out the same type of dirty work that they did freely before they were captured. They enjoy this type of work so much that they often choose to stay and continue to work for their master long after the sorcery has worn off. Imps must perform good deeds if their master asks it, but these imps fade fast and disappear the very second that the spell is broken.

They usually appear as small somewhat malformed humanoid creatures. They may have leathery discolored skin, horns, tails, overly large ears, twisted bony hands, and wings. However, they are shapeshifters, and have the ability to shift in and out of full visibility and often appear as small animals such as cats, bats, rats, mice, spiders, ferrets, frogs, toads, and other small reptiles.
