Creatures by Type : Incorporeal



Overview - Beings that do not have a physical body, have the ability to exist without a body, or have a body that exists in another dimension.

angel Angel - A spiritual being created by God as a way to communicate with and watch over human beings.


Apparition - A disembodied person or thing that appears; a visible spirit.

Banshee - A female spirit or fairy being who cries out in the night to warn of impending death. (Irish)


Elemental - A nature spirit that represents one of the four elements: water, air, earth, or fire. (Greek)


Ghost - A disembodied being, usually human.


Jinn - An invisible shapeshifter that can appear in the form of a human or an animal. (Middle Eastern)


Jumbie - A ghost or an evil spirit. Also Jumby or Jumbee. (Caribbean)


Nightmare - A demon that causes night terrors. Also Ephialtes, Mara, and Walriderske. (Scandinavian)


Phantom - An apparition or something that is seen only in the mind or in a dream.


Poltergeist - A noisy, mischievous spirit connected to a live human, usually a child. (German)


Shadow Cat - A revenant or other dimensional creature resembling a cat.


Shadow People - Dark vaporous entities in vaguely human form. (Prevalent)


Soul - The immortal part of humans, separable from the body at death. (Prevalent)


Specter - A visible spirit; a phantom.


Spirit - An incorporeal being, a fairy or an angel, also the incorporeal part of humans. (Prevalent)


Wraith - An apparition of a living or dead person that appears as a portent of death.
