Kelpie
A supernatural water horse found near rivers and other flowing waters in Scotland. The kelpie is similar to the each uisge, both are shapeshifters with the ability to walk on water and both are known to be malevolent towards humans.
The kelpie is most often found in the form of a beautiful young horse, though it may also take a human form. When encountered in its horse form humans may feel compelled to mount it. Once mounted the kelpie will rush headlong toward the water and may attempt to drown and consume the victim.
There is a fair to medium chance of escape, unlike the each uisge the rider will not be magically adhered to the skin of the kelpie and should be able to hop off and run away. The chances of survival significantly increase if the rider is able to dismount before the kelpie enters the water, this may be difficult as the creature possesses a preternatural quickness.
While kelpies can be dangerous they have also been known to befriend humans and even mate with them. Beings with knowledge of sorcery can use a benevolent kelpie as a vehicle to pass between worlds.
Malicious kelpies can be captured but they must be taken away from the water if they are to be tamed. Once tamed they are no longer a threat as long as long as they are never brought within viewing distance of any body of water large enough to allow it to submerge. With proper care the creature should be able to survive on dry land for many years.
