Fire is one of the four classical elements in ancient Greek philosophy and science, a salamander is an elemental being that represents and lives within the element of fire.

They are dainty, beautiful, and willing servants but are hostile towards humans who are unable to consciously enter the kingdom of fire.

Within the element of fire there exists an untold number of tiny kingdoms, salamanders live within these fire kingdoms in the same way that people live within their cities or towns.
