Another name for Bigfoot (United States). In Canada the same creature is called Sasquatch, a name derived from terms used by early native tribes of the Pacific Northwest.

While both terms are correct the term Sasquatch is viewed by some as more respectable since the term Bigfoot has often been associated with sensationalism and hoaxes. However, the term Bigfoot is still more widely used.
