Yeti Yeti

A Yeti is an apish creature with man-like facial features living in the Himalayan Mountains, also known as the Abominable Snowman.

Most reports describe a creature 7 to 10 feet tall, over 450 pounds, and completely covered with long dark hair. They have a very strong, foul odor and have been said to whistle, grunt, scream and howl.

While descriptions are similar, there are differences which have led some researchers to believe that at least three distinct types (or species) of Yeti occur in the forested regions and/or above the snowline of the Himalayas.

The main differences are size and hair type. Some creatures are only 4 feet tall while others are over 10 feet tall, hair type ranges from long and wispy to short and course. Hair color varies from black, brown and auburn, to white, silver, and yellow. They are usually bipedal but some types may occasionally walk on all fours.

They are generally believed to be carnivorous, nocturnal, and posses superhuman strength, for example they are able to pull huge trees out of the ground by their roots and toss heavy boulders about with ease.

It is not uncommon for sightings to include accounts of paranormal abilities. The Yeti is said to be able to walk through solid objects, move at unnaturally high speeds, levitate, and communicate with human beings and animals telepathically. There are also accounts of footprints that simply end as if the creature disappeared into thin air. Even with the supernatural accounts, many believe that enough evidence has been collected to represent a real creature.

Depending on your source "Yeti" translates to wildman, magical creature, all-devouring creature, that thing, rock thing, rock monkey, rock animal, dweller among the rocks, man of the rock, hairy man, man creature that is not a man, and many more.

Creatures that may be different species of Yeti are known as Meh-teh, Dzu-teh, Teh-lma, Rimi, Nyalmot, and Raksi-bombo.
