The colours used in this Martini mandala are more subtle than those in the Champagne piece, echoing the blending of flavours in a Martini cocktail. In the center of the work, the bases of the glasses fit tightly together and overlap, giving the impression of a flower unfurling and reminding the viewer of the fragrant nature of this particular spirit.

Traditionally, mandalas are constructed from coloured grains of sand, and so it is a modern adaptation on this theme that gives us a mandala constructed from glass, which too was once sand.
