Seattle has a mild climate with an average annual temperature of 52 degrees. Most days are overcast or partly cloudy, but the average annual rainfall is only 37 inches, much lower than most cities on the East Coast. However, the precipitation takes its time coming down so while the average annual rainfall in inches is low, it is raining or "damp out" in Seattle around 50% of the time.
In winter, the outlying areas and foothills get some snow. The mountain passes, just an hour or so outside of Seattle, have snow from mid November to the end of April. Within the city limits there is little or no snow.
Summer Warm days and cool nights with several clear sunny days.
Fall Starts warm with some crisp clear days, ends cool and wet.
Winter Cool and wet with little or no snow.
Spring Starts cool and wet, ends mild and damp.
